Our Approach

Richmond Shreve is an active volunteer and enthusiastic supporter of the movement to reform how legislative districts are drawn.  This website is his creation and he alone is responsible for its content.

Fair Districts PA is a young and fast-growing grass-roots organization. It is political and educational, but not partisan. Representative democracy is intrinsically inclusive, and it doesn’t matter whether one’s politics are red, blue, or neutral — we all want a fair shake.

But the power to pick constituents is hard for party leadership to give up. Gerrymandering has thrived in an environment of jaded indifference and chronic cynicism. It will take very large numbers of informed and determined citizens to reform the politician’s usual way of doing things. Action Network provides the communications tools to organize the reform movement and communicate the will of the people to their elected representatives.

This support service is dedicated to making it easy and fun to learn how the system saves work and increases the reach of organizing efforts.

Our Story

Organizers want to organize and take action.  Most are not willing to take time out to do training and acquire special skills to manage the event planning tools and mass communications systems that are common in business today.  Action Network is a ready-to-use toolset for organizers. It’s creators assert that it is so intuitive that one can sit down and start using it without going to school.

While that is mostly true, there is unfamiliar language and sequences of screens that must be navigated and can be confusing.  A mentor or coach who knows the way is a big help the first time.  And someone who knows the back alleys of the system can resolve problems faster than a neophyte who is still unsure.

The purpose of the support team is to get organizers comfortable and competent in using Action Network so that for each of them it is the easiest and most efficient way to achieve their goals.
